‘The Tent’ receives an upgrade for this year’s fireworks season

As the ten day window that vendors are allowed to sell fireworks in Gordon was quickly closing, a building project was finished up just in time.

At the location right next to the Gordon Theatre, Crazy Ed’s Fireworks now has a brand new home.

The fireworks stand has been operating out of a tent each year in the past but the construction of new building was just completed and the business has settled in.

Ed Vinton, along with Nick and Alyssa DeHart, own and operate the business together.

Vinton is a native of Gordon but now lives in Georgia. Alyssa is Vinton’s niece.

The process of getting ‘The Tent’ ready for business each year was a grueling task. Not to mention it did not provide much in the way of security each night.

Those were some of the main factors for the push for a more permanent home.

“Putting up a tent is a lot of work every year,” said Alyssa DeHart.

“So this just made it so much easier. We also can offer a much bigger selection,” she added.

Crazy Ed’s Fireworks is open daily until the Fourth of July from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

On the Fourth of July, they do stay open until midnight for all those last minute fireworks needs.

And Crazy Ed’s Fireworks strives to have everything you need and more.

“We’ve got something for everyone. Aerial, ground, fountains, and of course, kid’s stuff,” said Alyssa DeHart.

When you’re heading through town, the new location is not hard to find. Just remember to look for the two gigantic dinosaurs that help guide you into the brand new building.
