PENFIELD, N.Y. — South Shore’s unbeaten summer came to an end as did its magnificent tournament run Saturday as the Tottenville loop suffered a stunning 6-4 loss to West Nyack Nanuet in the semifinals of the Little League NYS 12s All-Star Baseball Tournament at Penfield Little League.

Manager Vin Nichilo’s squad, the District 24 and Sectional 3 South champ, finished with a 13-1 overall record in All-Star play this summer, but head back to the Island without a coveted state crown.

Trailing 6-2 entering the bottom of the sixth, South Shore made things very interesting by plating two runs and had runners on second and third with one out, before West Nyack wiggled out of it to claim the state banner.
