CLEVELAND − Denzel Ward went into the locker room after being shaken up on a fourth-quarter tackle of the Chargers' Austin Ekeler.

The official announcement was that Ward was in concussion protocol and would not return. He went to the locker room with trainers with 9:32 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Ward appeared to be off-balanced when he came up to try and stop Ekeler on a 17-yard run with just under 14 minutes remaining.

Ward had 10 tackles, one pass defensed in the game.
